Project Description
ANNA BENNETT
“Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to the sea: the vastly changing landscapes, the many textures, both surrounding and underfoot, and the varied weather. From the calm to the storm, season to season, I am excited to capture and share these experiences.”
Born and raised on the east coast of Scotland, Anna spent her childhood immersed in the creative arts. The youngest daughter of a textile artist and aircraft engineer/folk singer, her creative expression was encouraged and supported. Upon graduation, Anna studied art under the guidance of Mark Weighton at Chethams School in Manchester, England. She then went on to complete a Higher National Diploma in Public Art in Edinburgh, Scotland. Falling in love with a young Canadian while travelling in Greece spurred her to travel to Canada in February of 2000. They married in 2001 and are raising two sons in Powell River on BC’s Sunshine Coast.
